In the new vineyards planted in 2016, recent clones were used and among the most interesting for the area:
The combination of these three biotypes, together with the area's freshness, distinctive aromas, and elevation, imparts the wine with remarkable complexity in both structure and bouquet.
Typical Piedmontese vine, always cultivated in the Monforte d'Alba environment. Precisely in the area where it was replanted, historically called Pian Romualdo, the first Barbera di Prunotto was produced in 1961, one of the cornerstone wines of the Barbera d'Alba denomination.
For this variety, we have dedicated the less steep portions of the land, where the deeper soils are particularly suited to its cultivation.
The grapes at these altitudes maintain high acidity values and, destined for more or less prolonged aging in wood, give the wine richness and great elegance.
Thanks to its well-exposed, marly and calcareous-clay soils, the Monforte d'Alba area is very suitable for the production of sparkling wines with freshness and acidity. In 2016 and 2020, clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of French origin were planted, with good productivity and strong oenological characteristics.
The objective is to obtain rich, tasty, aromatic and intense wines that best interpret the territory.
